Random Teletech Journals

Started work at Teletech on 07/21/08 and training can get a bit on the boring side, so to keep me from gouging my eyes out I jot them down on my little notepad and date them so I can toss them in when I get home (since the cafeteria computers have LJ blocked) and backdate them. Guess I'll do that now.

Living in St. Charles

I've been staying here for nearly two months now; and it's really eating away at me, growing up here I actually had friends in the town, but they've all since moved away. There's nothing to do here either... It's damn tiny... and mom doesn't like me driving anywhere because I don't have money to pay for gas... I can't wait to get out of here! >_<;

Unusual night out

Heading over to the Macs Milk tonight to play DS games with Pants McPants and just hang out with our friend Brandon who is working the night shift there. So Pants is bringing the lappy too, so we will have tunes. Then at 2am when they usually toss the hot dogs, theres supper hehe, should be fun.

Biking there, just over a km away. The Journy

Bad week

Alrighty, this week wasn't so good as far as attendance goes, I'm not doing so well as it is, missing nearly a week of school isn't going to help. I've only made it to Tuesday's class on time, just caught the end of Friday's, so I'm going to guess I'm not sleeping too well. Probably has something to do with me not using my CPAP machine for my Sleep Apnea. To add to these problems, I'm very unorganized, so by using my CPAP more and using a neat program.

I was thinking about a program that came with the office suit called OneNote, I'm not a fan of the Office suite. So I goto Wikipedia and find EverNote listed as a competitor. Its probably classified as Shareware, but the features it is lacking will not be missed on a desktop since they seem to be useful only on Tablet PCs anyways, have it installed, I hope I can stick too it!

Its very pretty.
EverNote takes its place beside Gmail Notifier.

Waiting for my test

I'm in our classroom waiting to be called into the lab room for my practical. I'm quite sure I don't know half the stuff I should, but I think I might be able to make it through this test. I'm looking over Emerson's site and found something ammusing.

Ten Commandments of Sysadmin
1) Thou shalt make regular and complete backups
2) Thou shalt establish absolute trust in thy servers
3) Thou shalt be the first to know when something goes down
4) Thou shalt keep server logs on everything
5) Thou shalt document complete and effective policies and procedures
6) Thou shalt know what cable goes where
7) Thou shalt use encryption for insecure services
8) Thou shalt not lose system logs when a server dies
9) Thou shalt know the openings into your servers
10)Thou shalt not waste time doing repetitive and mundane tasks

Theifed from http://cisco.canadorec.on.ca/ that was probably theifed from something else.

Friendship

What if the whole world turns against you? Well, hopefully your friends won't do that; but they could. I'm lucky enough to have one true friend that would never do that; I bet my life on it. Its a sure fire bet, and I know it through my whole being. I am the same to him, I've bailed him out of some sticky situations, all he needed to do was ask for help. I took my parents car and picked him up within an hour, brought him to my place to stay for a few days. Another time him, and some other people were trying to help me to NOT make a fool of myself, but I was determined, and wanted somebody to be on my drunken side; I asked him for help and he asked if its what I really wanted and he was there for me. This, is my true friend.

"If you don't draw strength from your friends, there not really your friends, they are just acquaintances." This is something I kind of live by now, It was adapted from a mix of a couple things. One of them was Fur-piled Page 120. The other was the song "Love is like oxygen" by Sweet; Its an old, kind of up beet tune, it suggests that when you get a lot of love, you get too high. I find that pretty amusing, because I've been there; high on love, feel like your walking on a cloud, but something like that rarely lasts. The latter lyric is if you don't get enough "not enough and your gonna die". I'm sure most have felt like dieing one time or another for something like this. I haven't had a significant other for a while, so I get the love I need to live off my friends (platonic love), and I dare say I can live fairly well off it. Anyways, its a really good song, and Fur-piled is a really good comic.

Then there are friends I wish I was there for more then I am. Sometimes I can't be there for the friends that need me, hopefully I can be there for them in the future. Most of the time I help by listening, witch is good most of the time, not always very good when giving advice, or being sympathetic. Well anyways, such is life. --Blackthorn

Cool Anthro stuffs

A few friends of mine in #toronto-furry we're throwing links at each other like we do sometimes, and I got to the "There she is" series done by amalloc of SamBakZa.net, then found "Hot fish" also done by amalloc for another SamBakZa member, Sogong's comic of the same title. Hot fish is really cool but unfortunately it was taken down due to copyright issues for the song used. Luckily I downloaded a copy the first time I saw it because I found it very moving. Also because I was on dial-up at the time and don't like to download the same thing twice. Anyways, I'd like to post the links to some cool anthropomorphic works that I enjoy.

Ddautta: There she is
Cake Dance: There she is step two
Hot fish Done as an opening to a web comic (unofficially hosted)
Everyone else has had more sex then me - Tism
I should really be a bird - Kurrel The Raven
Shii's song
Fur-piled - Very well done web-comic done by Arthur Husky.

LJ has been setup (kinda)

Yeah! I set this up so I could comment on a blog deelie... Not maybe I'll post things, and have people read them... Or I'll just read other people's stuffs. Either way, Blackthorn has finally got on LJ. The picture there is from when I made an RPG deelie in RPGM2K. I thought it would be a very original "Game Over" screen, your game over music was also the mid from Gato's song when you are talking with him, it's a good tune!
